When lower environmental impact and specification-exceeding performance meet
For us, recycling is much more than a process. It plays a pivotal role in our mission to make low-carbon circular materials. Recycled plastic (along with biomass like hemp) takes centre stage in our product portfolio. We couldn’t get where we want to be – as close to net-zero as possible – without it.

We’ve chosen to focus our energies and attention on Polypropene (PP), a very versatile, strong and widely used (and recycled) plastic. Most of it comes from Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) sources through strong partnerships with like-minded innovators to guarantee quality and stable (scalable) supply. In Europe, we’ve teamed up with Veolia, in the United States we set up a joint venture with PCR and we also work with partners in China.
To take circularity a little further within the automotive industry, we also incorporate plastics from end-of-life vehicles. Working with pioneering partners like automotive circular economy expert GAIA – which organises the recycling of polypropene, amongst other things – contributes to a closed-loop system.
On our journey to developing low-carbon circular materials, we’ve also been exploring alternative sources of plastic waste. So far, we’ve started dabbling in:
Recycled plastic has already woven its way into many of our materials – making them stronger, lighter and lower carbon. And we’re busy finding ways to add more.

From plastic waste to bumper – turning post-consumer waste into high-spec compounds. PP & PE grades with up to 80% recycled content, ready for visible and non-visible applications
ABS & PC-ABS reimagined – fully recycled, fully compliant. Styrenic-based compounds aligned with automotive specs and suitable for visible parts.
Plastic waste is no longer just an environmental issue — it’s a global priority. Governments are stepping up regulations, brands are making bold commitments, and consumers are demanding change. But behind the headlines, a deeper transformation is underway: one that questions our entire relationship with materials, value chains, and circularity. In mobility and beyond, the challenge is clear — how do we break the linear model and give plastic a second life, without compromising performance?
At MATERI’ACT, we’re working to close the loop, turning waste into high-value resources for the next generation of sustainable products. Here’s a glimpse of what we’re building.
